

Dr. Omar Bah
Founder
Dr. Omar Bah is the Founder and President of the Survivor Institute. He is also a torture survivor, former journalist, and refugee from The Gambia. Dr. Bah is also the author of the book, Africa’s Hell on Earth: The Ordeal of an African Journalist. He also founded the Refugee Dream Center which serves refugees, asylees, and immigrants. Bah holds a bachelor's degree in communications studies with a minor in political science, a master’s degree in Public Administration, a master’s in Counseling Psychology in Global Mental Health, and a doctorate in Leadership Psychology with a focus on neuropsychology from William James College. Dr. Bah went on to complete trauma treatment certification at Harvard Medical School through the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma (HPRT). He is currently an adjunct professor of clinical psychology at William James College.
